Eco Tourism & Sustainability
-
The BIR is strongly committed to a policy of environmental responsibility. Therefore, the construction and operation of the resort has been meticulously engineered to minimize our environmental impact. In addition to salvaging driftwood and milling our own lumber, we have engineered our buildings with energy efficiency in mind.
-
We have installed waste water gardens to reduce our consumption; we have installed a water filtering system, to collect sweet rain water that is filtered to lower the usage of this scarce resource. You can read more about our sustainability policy and why we call ourselves an eco-resort here.
Eco Fresh Water Facilities
-
Due to the fact that fresh water is a scarce resource, especially at dry season, a sweet water eco-filter facility has been built underneath the surface. During the rainy season fresh water will be collected and cleaned with a special filtering system and then being re-used as fresh water.
-
Hence, our guest will have the luxury of having fresh water all year long, especially at dry season. In addition there are three wells being drilled into the ground, providing the resort with even more fresh water.
